Think EYP!
Are you considering recruiting for a level 3 practitioner?

If so, you may want to think about recruiting an EYP (Early Years Professional) instead. To find out what an EYP is, how an EYP can enhance the quality of childcare within your setting and how we can support your setting in employing an EYP please read on........

What is an EYP?

As a graduate level practitioner an Early Years Professional (EYP) can really add value to your setting. Their role is to lead and model best practice through direct work with children. This is demonstrated through:

- appropriate and effective communication , sensitive to each individual child from birth to the end of the Foundation Stage

- reflective practice to improve their own performance and that of others

- a solid knowledge and understanding of how their practice impacts positively on children and their families

Why should you consider recruiting an EYP?

Research clearly shows that the quality of settings is enhanced by more highly qualified practitioners and effective role modelling. It is also shown that children who experience high quality provision make better progress, which has a positive impact on their life chances.
