National Minimum Wage
 
The National Minimum Wage is revised annually on 1st October.
 
Current rates are:
 
£6.08 an hour for adults (workers aged 21 and over)
 
£4.98 an hour for workers aged 18 to 20 inclusive
 
£3.68 an hour for workers aged 16 -17
 
N.B New minimum wage of £2.60 per hour for apprentices who are either under 19 or in the first year of their apprenticeship.

The pay data is based upon vacancies advertised on the Early Years & Childcare Recruitment and Careers website since October 2010. It is strongly advised that settings undertake a market analysis of hourly rates offered by competitors within their area prior to advertising a position.
