Working with children requires a broad range of skills and qualities. Essentially you must have an interest in children, and be able to support and nurture their learning and development. You must be good at building relationships and possess excellent communication skills, not only with children but with their parents or carers too. If you have the energy, working with children is possibly the most fulfilling work you can do.

There are many places where you can work with children: nurseries, pre-schools, breakfast/after-school clubs and crèches. Or you could be a self-employed Childminder working from home. We now offer an on-line option to register your interest and book onto a briefing session. Children's Centres continue to extend their range of services recruiting outreach workers  in many localities.
